Revolution would like to take this opportunity to update you on what’s been going on through the month of February.

Revolution’s 12 week transformation contenders
In last month’s newsletter we set down the challenge for people to join our 12 week transformation challenge, and so far the response has been outstanding. Below is a selection of those who’ve made a great start.

Mick Hill
Has lost an amazing 8kg since the start of the year, and he is in great shape to take on the London Marathon in April. As part of his preparation, he ran the Tunbridge Wells half marathon in an impressive 1 hour and 57 minutes.

Andy Luxford
Has lost 8kg (over a stone) in the past 8 weeks!

Annie Hawker
We have been given special permission to mention that Annie is 60 years young, and she has lost 3 inches from her waist this year. Her fitness continues to improve and she is now committed to running a half marathon in May.

Nicky and Rhodri
Have trained with Becks and Neil over the past 6 weeks, and have lost 3.5% body fat and half a stone respectively. They are now challenging for Revolution’s 'most desirable couple' title.

Fill out those food diaries!
The results that the guys above have achieved are exceptional, and one the main reasons that they achieved those results is because they wrote down everything they ate and drank.
As a recent article by Steve Mitchell, from MSNBC, states ‘A comprehensive study was carried out by Kaiser’s Centre for Health Research in Portland. It found that people who kept daily food diaries lost at least twice as much weight as those who didn’t keep a tally of their meals.

‘Nearly 1,700 Kaiser Permanente study participants agreed to exercise and adopt a healthy diet, but those who took the extra step of keeping track of what they consumed got something of a booster charge in their weight loss.

‘Overall, two-thirds of the study subjects lost nine pounds or more during the six-month study. But those who kept a food diary every day of the week dropped up to 20 pounds, more than twice as much as those who didn't record their every bit.' Enough said really!
